Contaminated Tap Water

Due to the many forms of pollutions that man has brought into the environment, we are now suffering from their long-term and virtually irreversible effects. Many of the environmental issues that pollution has caused are concentrated on our water resources; in the food that we source from the sea and in the water that we drink. When we can find alternatives to eating contaminated seafood, nothing can replace the role and importance of drinking water into our lives. Water is life and so a contaminated tap water threatens life. The time to take action is now. Be aware of the serious health effects of ingesting water hazards and devise a solution that will help safeguard our health and our family from its long-term and often irreversible effects.

Due to continuously growing number of industrial plants in the world, more and more bodies of water are becoming recipients of toxic industrial wastes. The continuously growing demand for fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides in farming is also eventually translated into the concentration of chemicals that are found in groundwater sources. In the United States, 24 out of the 28 tested metropolitan areas were found to have contaminated water. Apart from dirt and microorganisms, the water samples were found to have traces of pharmaceutical drugs. These drugs have beneficial effects to people who need them. While these drugs cure diseases or even behavioral problems, these drugs are toxic to healthy people.

There is a common notion that filtered water or bottled water is absolutely safe for drinking. With their seemingly hygienic packaging, anybody can easily be fooled into believing that. So when we are having problems with our tap water, the same problem is also applicable to bottled water. Hence, buying and drinking bottled water does not exactly make you escape the dangers which contaminated water brings. Water contaminants can be sourced almost everywhere. Whatever kind of water is still considered safe for drinking?
